As you may be aware all freedom passes which have not yet been renewed show the expiry date 31st March 2008. We have been advised by TfL that London Buses, London Underground, Tramlink, DLR and London Overground have all already been advised that Freedom Passes, that have not yet been re-stickered for 2010, should be accepted up to 31 May 08. They have briefed their drivers and staff.

We have received monies from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (SIDA) who have approved our Link To Work project for 2007/08. The projects aims are:
The Special Appeal Fund Committee - Fifth Special Appeal Fund have approved a grant of £1000. The aim of the Special Appeal Fund is to provide grants for specific projects which will make a difference for the people that the charity helps. This grant will be applied towards the training of mentors to enable the introduction of a support group for people with enduring mental health issues.

Not only has Trevor won ‘The Permanent Consultant’ of the year award he has also been awarded the overall winner of the ‘ The 2007 REC Individual Member - Recruiter of the Year’ award. Status Employment are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the Lloyds TSB Foundation For England & Wales to support the cost of an Employment Consultant to work with Clients with Enduring Mental Health Needs.
Status Employment are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the City Parochial Foundation to wards the supported employment programme for people with severe mental illness.
The Big Lottery Fund has recently awarded Status Employment funding to work with people with complex Mental Health needs who are further away from the job market. The Big Lottery Fund will result in more people with Enduring Mental Health Issues receiving the specialised interventions and support developed by Status Employment to move them closer to and into paid employment. The Big Lottery Fund will enable us to carry out this vital work in the boroughs of Croydon and Lambeth.
In an innovative venture with Norbury Manor Business & Enterprise College for Girls five Status Employment candidates together with one of Status Employment’s experienced Employment Consultants have begun a BTEC course to learn business start-up skills as well as entrepreneurial and life skills.
During his 40-year career in the newspaper industry David held senior management positions throughout England, ranging from Production Director of the Sunderland Echo and Hartlepool Mail to Group Production Manager of United Newspapers producing titles throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire and Northamptonshire.
Returning to South London, where he was born, David became Managing Director of the Croydon Advertiser Group, before leaving to take responsibility-as Regional Managing Director – for newspapers in Basingstoke, Andover, Salisbury, Taunton, Plymouth and Falmouth.
David’s final management position brought him back to South London as Managing Director of Newsquest (South London) Ltd., publishers of the South London Guardian series, Richmond and Twickenham Times and News Shopper. David retired in 2002, exactly 40 years to the day after starting out as an apprentice compositor with the Surrey Mirror in Redhill Surrey.
David has held a number of non-executive directorships in South London and recently stood down from the Board of Croydon Business Venture Ltd., where he was Vice- Chairman of the Operating Board. He is currently a non-executive Director of Mayday Healthcare NHS trust and a Justice of the Peace.
David has been both and admirer and supporter of Status Employment since soon after its inception in the early 1990s.

Status Employment is off to a flying start with new an innovative round of fund raising. One of our Senior Employment Consultants is participating in a mini marathon and seeking sponsorship to deliver our MISSION STATEMENT: Moving towards, gaining and remaining in work.
To kick start the fund raising, one of our Employment Consultants Louise will be running the "Nike Milton Keynes Half Marathon" (13.1 miles) on 11th March at 10.30 am. By sponsoring her, you too can be part of changing the lives of disabled people.
