All Freedom Passes come up for renewal next Spring. Current passes have an expiry date of 31st March 2006 the issuing of new 2006/2008 passes and the placing of stickers on 2004/2006 passes will begin on Monday 6th February 2006.
The process will involve the revalidation, not the replacement of existing passes. To show that each pass has been revalidated, a sticker will be fixed to the pass with the new expiry date. Croydon Council will be continuing to use the Post Office as agents for the issue of both the Older Person's Freedom Pass and the Disabled Person's Freedom Pass for next year's renewal.
Age Concern report that their name has been used by people trying to get hold bank and finance details, or trying gain entry to homes. They ask for bank details to pay lottery winnings; they say they are from the Age Concern Benefits Project to get your financial details or they say they are Age Concern Cleaning Services to gain entry to homes.
Age Concern Croydon NEVER COLD CALL OR CARRY OUT DOOR-TO-DOOR COLLECTIONS. If Age Concern contact you to ask if you would like to take part in a lottery, they will send you an official pack and a reference number. If you are asked for personal details, do not give them and if you have a caller claiming to be from Age Concern, do not let them in; instead, contact the police and telephone Age Concern offices on 020 8680 5450 ext. 206.

If you have a Disabled Freedom Pass that was issued by the Council, you will need to act soon to make sure that your pass is renewed before it expires on 31 March 2006
You will shortly receive a yellow 2006-2008 renewal application form from the Council. Please complete the form and send it back along with any medical evidence and copies of relevant documents.
They will acknowledge renewal forms within five working days of receipt. You should hear the outcome of your renewal application by early 2006. If they need you to give us any extra information, they will contact you.
